Busy Bees was started in 2005, by Gwen Gill and two Dutch friends, who enjoyed making things. A few others soon joined them and in a short while there was quite a collection of hand-made articles.
One of the Dutch ladies who was attending a pre-natal examination at Kaş Family Clinic noticed that they were very short of equipment. So it was decided to organise a small garden party in Gokseki to sell the items they had made. With the proceeds a digital scales for weighing the pregnant mothers and a special baby thermometer were purchased.

More friends joined the group and it was suggested that additional sales could be achieved by selling second hand clothes donated and a stand was set up in the Square in Kas on special festive days.

These became very popular, enabling the group to help with many projects, like providing a heart monitor machine for the old Kas hospital. Since that time, Busy Bees has become a registered Turkish children’s charity, with a more modern name (Kas4Kids)

The charity has expanded to include a shop premises in Kas and in 2016 a new shop was opened in Kalkan. All this has been achieved with a number of devoted and hard working volunteers.
