Mrs. Buket Uzuner came to Sütlegen Secondary School and interviewed the students and signed her books.

Busy Bees Association supported the project of the Kaş Tourism Association where Sütleğen Secondary School students met and had a conversation with the author Buket Uzuner, by purchasing 200 books and delivering them to Sütleğen together with our author’s volunteers.

Atatürk t-shirts were bought and distributed to all students of Sütleğen Primary School to be worn on 23 April Sovereignty and Children’s Day celebrations.

Children’s books donated to our shop were sent to the students of the Kasaba Primary School.

In line with their requests, we sent jigsaw puzzles, dominos, and card games to the students of the Kasaba Primary Boarding School so they would have something fun to do in their spare time. We plan to continue these donations.

Since 2016 we’ve provided diapers and clothing for newborns each month in the hope that they will reach those in need.

We’ve been providing grants to students in boarding schools in particular. In 2018, the number of students we supplied with regular grants reached 30. We can increase this number even further with your support.

After renovating four kindergarten classrooms in 2016, we’ve continued to send cushions, tables, chairs, carpets, and toys to kindergarten classes in other schools in line with their requests.

As a tradition, every year during different times we organize a campaign under the guidance of the local district governor, municipality, and teaches to provide children boots, coats, and other clothing, ensuring them a warm winter. During these campaigns we provided the following:

2016- 600 pairs of boots (42,000 TL)

2017- Coats and boots for 250 children (62,500 TL)

2018- Coats and boots for 200 children as part of the KEYSUP project (22,500 TL)

2019- Winter clothing for 10 children (1500 TL), with more to come throughout the year

The principal of the Yurdusev Primary School requested that we provide better opportunities for their special education program. In 2018 we purchased tables, chairs, mirrors, and some educational toys for these students, with the rest soon to be completed. Proper equipment, carpets, and covers are very important for the safety of students in this type of program. We are continuing our support within this area.

We’ve formed an important connection with the children’s unit at the Kas State Hospital. Since our focus is on the ages of 0-18, we wanted to do whatever possible to help babies as well. In 2017 we transformed the room they gave us into a breastfeeding and children’s playroom to provide a comfortable solution for mothers and their children waiting in line. Then in 2018, we spent 15000 TL on two pieces of equipment at the request of the newborn unit. These included a defibrillator and ventilator vital to the children’s unit. 

We’ve helped most of the Primary Schools in the region by rounding out their school supplies and educational materials and organizing toy campaigns. We’ve donated colorful, age appropriate tables and chairs and continued our aid throughout 2017-2018. The Dirgen School was one of these. After renovating their classrooms in September, we purchased heaters in November so they could continue lessons in a warm environment throughout winter.

We provided physical education and sport equipment lacking from the Agullu Primary School including blocks, cushions, crates, and balls.

After learning of a disabled child living in a single room with his mother, father, and four siblings in Palamut Village, under the direction of the district governor, we decided to help. Our goal was to repair their second room, fixing the roof, and furnishing it to provide the children with their own living space. Since the father is unemployed, items such as a washing machine, oven, beds, and chairs were also purchased.

We donated a special hearing aid for a student with a hearing disability in Kas so he could comfortably continue his education.

We donated an electric wheelchair to a disabled middle school student living in Kasaba so she could comfortably continue her education.

The special education class here was an important starter project for us. The teachers there let us know what the students needed based on their situations. Thanks to our supporters we were able to supply all the necessary educational and teaching materials and tablets in 2017. This first step became a point of reference for us when helping other special education classes. (5000 TL spent).
